Whitsunday Sailing Holidays
Airlie Beach and the Whitsundays are home to the best cruises and adventure tours in Australia
It doesn’t matter if you’re a total rookie, or if you’re a pro sailor (pun not intended I promise), there are a number of ways of seeing this beautiful slice of paradise we get to call home – but Whitsunday Sailing Holidays are some of the best. There are a few different options depending on exactly what you’re after for you and/or your group, but (and we know we’re a little bias) we believe embarking on a sailing trip is an incredible way to fully immerse yourself in the Whitsunday Islands.

Our Whitsunday Sailing Holidays Liveaboard Trips
Skippered charters:
if there are a few of you and you want the freedom to do your own thing, choose the length of your sailing holiday and where you want to go, then we definitely recommend one of our skippered charters.
We recommend a minimum of 10 people to make the trip affordable for you, but then you have the whole boat for just your group, and we provide a skipper and two deckhand/hosts who will take care of all the hard stuff for you (cooking, cleaning, sailing, planning the activities and choosing the best spots – and making sure they’re accessible so you don’t get stuck anywhere on the wrong tide!).
Essentially you sit back and relax, learn as little or as little as you like about the sailing and the area, while we make sure you have the best sailing holiday of your life. To read more about our skippered charters, click here.

Liveaboard set trips:
these ones have their own set trip departures and length – Hammer sets sail around the Whitsundays for 3 days and 2 nights, while Condor and Broomstick have an extra day at sea (i.e. 4 days and 3 nights).
We’ve mastered these trips so you get to visit the best of the Whitsundays highlights while not feeling rushed, if you’re travelling solo or with a smaller group, or perhaps you want to mingle and meet some new people, then we definitely recommend these trips.
They’re more affordable than a private charter for most, but still have all the crew and food included in the cost. To have a look at departure dates and learn more about the boats, click here.
BARE BOATING
If you’ve got a bit of sailing experience behind you, a little more cash to burn, and you’re looking for something a little more luxurious than what our boats offer; i.e. private cabins with ensuites, then your Whitsunday Sailing Holidays would be better off hiring out what we call a ‘bare boat’. There’s a lot of different boats to choose from depending on how fancy you’re planning on getting, but we recommend at least having basic boating skills as there are no crew included – it’s all up to you to organize food, drive the boat, sail it (if you want) and get yourself around the Whitsundays.
Hiring a bare boat is a beautiful way of chilling out in class and style as you tick off all the spots on your Whitsunday sailing bucket list, and you are after a bit more of an intimate holiday. One word of advice we have for you though is to make sure you check the tides – you don’t want to be left in a tricky situation on a dropping tide, and make sure you look out for reef wherever you go!
Our delicate ecosystem has a lot of challenging factors already so make sure you’ve done your research about where to go and anchor so you’re not one of them. To have a look at some options, we suggest checking out Queensland Yacht Charters here.
Day Sailing Holidays
If you’re on a slightly tighter schedule than perhaps either of the above options allows, there’s a few cool day sailing trips around the Whitsundays we recommend you check out. If you’re again after a little more of a high-end service that’s more intimate, have a look at Lady Enid. Included in the price is a trip to Whitehaven and a snorkel, and you’re even treated to sparkling wine and an antipasto platter in the afternoon. To find out more – click here.
Slightly less intimate but no less fun is heading out on the sailing catamaran Camira, it’s a very similar itinerary to Lady Enid but takes a lot more people – so more opportunity to mingle, and there’s also an open bar after lunch… have a further look here.
