Your sailing voyage commences the moment you step aboard one of our sailing maxi sailboats departing for Coral Sea Marina, Airlie Beach – the gateway to our Tropical Islands and the Great Barrier Reef Marine Park. These famous 74 Islands are made up of coral reefs, lush rainforest, velvet green covered peaks and unoccupied islands shimmering in an azure sea and all concentrated into a range of only 100 nautical miles.

You will sail past the many islands as our experienced crew navigate from the helm, snorkel spectacular coral reefs, laze on the world’s best beaches and personally meet an overwhelming array of sea life.

The crown jewel for the Whitsunday Islands is Whitehaven Beach. Made from 98% silica sand this 7km long beach is situated on the southeastern side of Whitsunday Island.

With Prosail Whitsundays you will navigate from Airlie Beach to this iconic white beach. You will get to walk on the natural cool sand and play in crystal clear waters; we also visit Hill Inlet Lookout, a viewing platform. This walking track is accessible from Tongue Bay and takes around 15 minutes to trek to the viewing platform.

Our Sailing Tours pride themselves on spending maximum time on Whitehaven Beach. Each tour spends at least 3 hours exploring the beach, viewing platform and stunning inlet. Our friendly tour guides are always there to answer questions and show you the best the beach has to offer.

Josh Wilde, Prosail owner since 2018, has personally made his way up the maritime ladder from hostie/deckhand, to skipper, to owner. He knows what works, and what doesn’t. Josh keeps his finger on the pulse to make sure our standard doesn’t drop, and our trips just keep getting better. It’s his personal passion for exactly what Prosail offers – sailing, free-diving & adventuring, that makes these trips as incredible as they are.

We have three 24 metre ex-racing maxi yachts that have been converted to live-aboard which really makes for a super unique way to travel and stay around the amazing Whitsunday Islands. Accommodation is in dormitory-style bunks – it’s not a luxury hotel but it is comfortable and unique. Have you ever slept on a racing boat surrounded by 74 islands?

Each boat has toilets, hot showers and even a kitchen where the crew prepare all your fresh meals on board. Some say it’s the best food in the Whitsundays and we cater to all diets at no extra cost. We have also recently finished refurbishments on all three vessels.
