About Prosails Skippered Yacht Charters
Prosail has been around for over 15 years, but were taken over in 2018 by two young local sailors; Tommy Gallagher and Josh Wilde – making them the newest and youngest in the industry. Two great mates who worked their way up the ranks in the industry, starting out as hosts cooking the meals, on to deckhands trimming the sails and then driving as captains. Since then the boys have done everything they can to try and stand out from the crowd, with the service they provide, the meals they cook, the fun, friendly and professional crew they hire and ensuring they run the best trips possible. As a result, Prosail is now the number#1 Whitsundays sailing specialists, Eco accredited and were awarded Trip Advisors Travellers Choice in 2020.

Why a private charter is the best way to book the Whitsundays
Booking a Skippered Yacht Charter Whitsundays means you can tailor the trip to suit exactly what you want to do while you’re in the Whitsundays. Whether it be for a birthday, bucks/hens, footy trip, or just getting a group of your best people together to go on vacay in the most beautiful place in the world – we can design a trip that is perfect for your wants and needs.
You can choose the length that suits your holiday, whether that be two days or a week. Either tell us the key places you want to visit and we can build the trip around that, tell us what you’re most interested in (i.e. beaches, snorkelling, freediving, hiking etc.), or just leave the wind in our sails (pun intended) and we can plan the trip for you entirely with our favourite spots. We know this place like the back of our hand and promise you can trust us to plan you a trip that’s the perfect balance of adventure and relaxation, with visits to some of jaw-dropping sites that’ll have you planning your trip back before this one has even finished.
If you’re worried about Covid-19 then you can also book with ease knowing you’re only going to be sharing your space with people you know.
The Whitsunday Islands
This idyllic piece of Australia is home to the 74 islands of the Whitsundays, nestled in far north Queensland between the coast and the Outer Great Barrier Reef. Airlie Beach, the main port for departures to visit the islands, is a small but busy little sailing town situated on the coast in the middle of the stretch of islands – and the closest to the two largest islands; Whitsunday and Hook.
With peaks of 438m (Whitsunday) and 450m (Hook), it means a visit to the islands provides the wanderer with not only bountiful snorkeling bays, access to private beaches, the famous 7.8km of Whitehaven Beach and it’s white silica sand, picturesque Hill Inlet lookout, but also a variety of hikes and peaks to climb, to ensure your itinerary is jam-packed with all your favourite adventures. From sparkling azure seas that are every shade of blue imaginable to molten rock cliff races that look straight out of a volcano, Aboriginal caves with ancient artworks, striking mountain peaks, and lush rainforests and wildlife – you could spend weeks here and not see it all.
It is also a major departure port for tours to the Great Barrier Reef, a world heritage listed site and the largest living organism in the world – which is home to over 1500 species of fish, 400 species of coral and 4000 species of molluscs.
